Growing up out west as a former competitive athlete Christine has always been aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the body. It was not until the injury of a family member/ teammate that she developed a desire to understand the human anatomy and function. Hoping to learn more, Christine entered a Bachelor of Science degree at Mount Allison University. However, she soon realized that the program did not address the topics that she was truly passionate about. This led her to explore other options, and she was drawn to the Atlantic College of therapeutic massage in Fredericton New Brunswick, where she fell in love with the profession of massage therapy. During her time at the college Christine’s increasing curiosity prompted her to continue her education. She became specialized in sports massage, and prenatal massage, which also included Doula certification.
After Christine graduated with honors from ACTM, she moved to Toronto where she started an exciting new chapter in her life. She completed her board exams to become a registered massage therapist in Ontario, and started working as an independent contractor at Toronto Bodyworks. It was there, alongside her fellow colleagues at the time, where she honed in her skills as a massage therapist.
You could see as time went on that Christine’s passion is shown through the attention and care she provides to her clients. She works one on one with clients to help achieve their health and rehabilitation goals. She believes that it is important to share any knowledge that may help an individual client become more in tuned with their body and its particular needs.
After 2 years of working with a great team in Toronto, Christine thought it was time to start a new journey. Feeling nothing but support from all her clients and former colleagues Christine packed up her practice and decided to move back out west to the beautiful province of British Columbia, where she grew up every summer playing sports, and in the back country camping, hiking, and exploring with friends and family. She is excited to be back, and to continue growing and gaining more experience as a registered massage therapist here in BC, where she will continue to strive to ensure you receive the best quality of care and treatment, but she is also very eager to start working alongside her new team here at Valleyview Chiropractic and Massage.
Christine is a registered massage therapist in good standing with the College of Massage Therapy of British Columbia (CMTBC) and the registered massage therapy association of British Columbia (RMTBC).
