I grew up in Kelowna and graduated from Okanagan Mission Secondary, carrying on to Okanagan College and then UBC where I completed an Honours Bachelor’s degree and then Master’s degree in Human Physiology. Following my years in Vancouver I headed east to Toronto to attend Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. In 2003 I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the four year Doctor of Chiropractic program and returned home to Kelowna to start my practice.
A typical treatment with me includes chiropractic adjustment, soft tissue work and advice for self-care. Adjustments are generally performed with my hands using Diversified Technique though I also use an Activator adjusting tool and chiropractic table drop-pieces when appropriate. In order to most effectively treat a patient I believe that we need to address both the joint dysfunction through adjustments, and the surrounding muscles. I treat muscles using the Active Release Technique (ART; www.activerelease.com) which is considered the gold standard in soft tissue therapy and is particularly effective at addressing repetitive strain disorders.
I am honoured to be a part of Valleyview Chiropractic and Massage, a multi-practitioner clinic which has been serving Kelowna since 1968. It is our mission to provide the highest quality health care to those patients who seek our services. Our wonderful staff ― Betty, Corrine and Colleen ― are very knowledgeable and able to assist you with any questions you may have about your visit.
At home, my two young kids are a constant source of amusement, wonder, frustration, and joy. My husband Martin is my sidekick as we strive for the parental high road. In our free time we like to keep active as a family, riding bikes, skiing and playing hide and seek.
